Carmen E. Estimbo, LPC-A
Supervised by Barbie Atkinson, LPC-S
My name is Carmen E. Estimbo (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (License #86997). I am bilingual (English/Spanish) and can provide services in both languages. I am under the supervision of Barbie Atkinson, LPC-S.
I attended The University of Texas at Austin and hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
In my counseling career, I have had the honor of working with children, adolescents, and adults of diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings: an elementary school, non-profit comprehensive crisis center, and now, private practice. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, post-traumatic stress, trauma, domestic/family violence, self-harm, immigration, communication challenges, relationship issues, and grief. Also, I am an advocate and ally with the LGBTQ+ community.
The therapeutic relationship between client and counselor is of utmost importance, and I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for that relationship to thrive. As a counselor, I utilize a holistic approach with clients and draw on several modalities, such as Person-Centered theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and a trauma-informed perspective.
I am committed to meeting clients where they are at in their lives and working collaboratively to process challenges and achieve goals. It is my belief that individuals possess strengths and resiliency, even when they do not see it in themselves.
I look forward to taking this journey of discovery and healing with you.
